Roller Chain Drive & Spanner Drive
# 7 shows the principles of positive-motion transmissions between parallel shafts using a roller chain. The sprocket on the drive shaft actuates a roller chain passing over an inter-mediate (idler) sprocket and engaging the sprocket on the driven shaft (with indicator). Useful in showing speeds and directional relaltionships in chain drives.
